SIS College Football Playoff Predictions
As the College Football Playoffs near, we would like to introduce our College Football Playoff Predictions! These predictions are powered by our College Football Betting Model, which output predictions of a team’s score in each game. From there, we simulate the results of the remaining games, tabulate the final standings with tiebreakers included, and then use a hierarchy of rules to predict which teams will compete for the National Championship.
The teams with the 12 highest probabilities of getting to the College Football Playoffs are as follows…
Team | Probability |
|---|---|
Ohio State | >99% |
Indiana | >99% |
Texas A&M | >99% |
Georgia | >99% |
Texas Tech | >99% |
Oregon | 96% |
Ole Miss | 91% |
Oklahoma | 79% |
Alabama | 69% |
North Texas | 67% |
SMU | 63% |
Notre Dame | 55% |

What We’re Reading/Watching
“Green Bay Packers defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley has a wide range of tools at his disposal that he can use to generate pressure on opposing quarterbacks. One way he can generate pressure is through the use of a concept called “hot quarters coverage.” It’s seldom used, and according to Sports Info Solutions, it has only been a tagged play call four times over one and a half seasons.” - Rich Madrid, SB Nation via Yahoo!
