NFL Draft: Where We Differ From Consensus
By now you've hopefully checked out our NFL Draft Website, which you can probably tell we're rather excited about. Our Draft crew always enjoys the challenge of writing a report and sharing their scouting expertise.
One of the things that's always interesting is to see where we differ from the consensus. The website NFL Mock Draft Database combines rankings from more than 100 Big Boards and more than 1,600 mock drafts to form a consensus Big Board that we can compare our rankings to.
Among the players we listed in our Top 20, we were at least 10 slots higher than the consensus rankings on four of them. Here are those four players with an explanation of why we liked them so much (click the player’s name to see their full scouting report).
"Proctor has the ideal size and athleticism combination that teams drool over, and despite a few concerns as a pass protector, his dominance as a run blocker makes him too tantalizing to last long in the draft."
Positional Rank: 2nd
No. 1-listed strength: Overwhelming power
- Jeff Dean
"Brazzell is a height/weight/speed receiver who has the release package, explosiveness out of breaks, and a large catch radius to make a difference at the next level, as long as he takes to an NFL route tree and can improve some after the catch."
Positional Rank: 3rd
No. 1-listed strength: Utilizes stems and breaks well
- Chris Congemo
"Cisse is a talented cornerback with speed and athleticism to cover all areas of the field, and as he continues to develop physically and instinctually, he can be a high-level defender at the next level."
Positional Rank: 3rd
No. 1-listed strength: Remarkable play speed
- Jordan Edwards
"Hood showcases lockdown potential on the outside, and if he can round out his game to improve his consistent impact, NFL receivers will be on notice."
Positional Rank: 4th
No. 1-listed strength: Sticky in man coverage
- Jeff Dean
