A Vast Amount Of Talent Available At Wide Receiver
This is a particularly deep NFL Draft for wide receivers and if your team needs one, you might want to check out the scouting reports on our NFL Draft Website. Our scouts ranked five receivers among the top 21 players on our Big Board.
Here's a sneak preview.
"Tyson is an NFL-ready receiver whose clutch ability and contested catch prowess should give him ample opportunity to earn his quarterback’s trust early in his NFL career."
- Jeff Dean
"Tate is a smooth and savvy receiver whose strong, secure hands make for a QB-friendly target that will see plenty of playing time, but his lack of functional strength against press and top-end speed and elusiveness will limit his ceiling at the next level."
- Chad Tedder
"Brazzell is a height/weight/speed receiver who has the release package, explosiveness out of breaks, and a large catch radius to make a difference at the next level, as long as he takes to an NFL route tree and can improve some after the catch."
- Chris Congemo
"Boston is a big-bodied receiver with smooth athleticism who can be a ball-winner in contested catch situations with strong hands and a physical frame."
- Jordan Edwards
No. 21, Makai Lemon, USC
"Lemon is a sudden receiver with consistent hands that can separate at the line of scrimmage, in his route, and at the catch point, making him a prospect that should develop into a passer’s favorite target when they need to make a completion, though his lack of catch radius and unpolished skill set could lead to some growing pains early in his career."
- Ben Hrkach
If you're looking for someone who is a statistical darling outside of these five, No. 38 Ja'Kobi Lane should be on your radar.
"Lane is a long, lanky receiver whose strong hands, tracking ability, and concentration in contested situations make him a vital piece to a receiver room at the next level, though a lack of play strength and suddenness could hold him back from reaching his full potential," wrote Nathan Cooper.
Lane had a Total Points Rating just shy of the top receivers. For those unacquainted, Total Points is our all-encompassing player value stat that uses Expected Points as a framework and distributes credit or debit to each player involved in a play based on their impact.
Total Points Rating compares a player's Total Points Per Play to average. Lane was a 98 on a 50-99 scale, better than everyone listed here other than Brazzell, who was a 99.
