Good Years, Bad Years, Where Are These Players Headed?

Jevone Moore/Icon Sportswire
This week on The Off The Charts Football Podcast, our crew picked three notable players coming off good years and three more coming off bad years and evaluated their skills and situations for 2026.
On the good side they focused on Drake Maye, Davante Adams, and Brian Burns. On the bad side, they looked at Justin Jefferson, Quinnen Williams, and Roquan Smith.
Among the comments and observations:
Bryce Rossler on Brian Burns: “There's two dimensions to this. The first is the, the sacks are a bit outsized given the pressure numbers. But the pressure numbers are still good. And then the second thing I think is that Burns is not necessarily a high volume pressure guy. He's, he's definitely a pass rusher first and foremost, but when I think of his calling card, it's how quick he generates pressure … I would expect that to continue.”
Alex Vigderman on Drake Maye: “One of the big calling cards in his rookie year that people were really impressed with was the deep passing. I'm not surprised to see that kind of production. But yeah, you do generally have that come back to earth a little bit. Maybe there's a counterbalancing effect of if A..J. Brown is what he should be, motivated and healthy, and still sort of the back end of his prime then he can counterbalance some of the potential regression.
James Weaver on Quinnen Williams: Quinnen only had 2 ½ sacks last year, but his 50 pressures were the fifth-highest among interior defensive linemen, and his 4.5% pressure above expectation plus-minus was the fourth highest among interior defensive linemen as well. A little bit of weirdness coming over from the Jets mid-season trying to fit into a new system in Dallas. I think Quinnen Williams is still one of the best defensive linemen in football, and I think this is an easy one to project, him having a big bounce-back year with a revamped Dallas defense.”
