We’ve recently aired podcasts showing off the breadth and depth of the pass rushing and pass blocking data we collect.

This week we shared our content in article form, allowing you to read and study it a little more closely. Alex Vigderman dug into the tendencies and interactions between pass rush moves, block types, blocker help, and stunts, and based on alignment and rush move tendencies. James Weaver ascertained different pass rusher archetypes.

One of the highlights of this work was ascertaining which pass rushers are the least and most predictable with their moves and techniques.

"Of course, that also gives us the opportunity to play in this sandbox and discover new insights, thanks to multiple years of work by our full-time Football Ops staff."

On this week’s Off The Charts Football Podcast, Alex and James’ discussed James’ College Football Playoff Predictor Model. James explains what drives its predictions from a modeling perspective and the nuances of trying to predict what humans are thinking when placing teams into the playoffs, as well as potential future enhancements to the model itself.
