Inside The NFL Draft Website: Draft Matrix and Injuries

One of the biggest projects at our company is The SIS NFL Draft Website. This is a combined effort from our Operations team and our R&D team. In total, we’ll publish more than 300 scouting reports, with more than 200 on the site right now.

Two weeks ago we looked at what the scouting reports on our site looked like. Last week we looked at player ratings and stats. Today, we’ll share information about our Draft Matrix and injury notations.

The SIS Draft Matrix combines all of our player scouting grades on one page, grouping players by their position. It makes it easier to visualize the difference in projected value between players and also to see the depth of players available at a specific talent level.

The main Draft Matrix page encompasses all of our player grades for this year from 5.4 to 7.0. Below is a snippet of what the Matrix looks like from 7.0 to 6.5.

You can click on the rectangles with the individual position names to isolate specific positions. For example, here’s the top of the board if you were to click on QB, RB, and WR.

In case you forgot about the definitions of our grading scale, you can click the link for our Glossary to see it. The example below is for quarterbacks.

One other thing to point out is the injury risk notations on player pages, such as “Low Risk” on Fernando Mendoza’s page.

We have staff trained and dedicated specifically with regards to injury evaluation. The head of that group has expertise in kinesiology, biomechanics, and exercise prescription.

Our injury designations and definitions are listed below.

Injury Designations

  • Low Long-Term Injury Risk: The player has a limited injury history with no documented pattern of recurrent or severe injuries. Past injuries, if any, were minor, acute, and resolved without complications or repeat occurrences.

  • Moderate Long-Term Injury Risk: The player has a notable injury history that includes either multiple minor injuries, at least one significant injury, or injuries that required extended recovery time but have not demonstrated persistent recurrence or long-term complications.

  • High Long-Term Injury Risk: The player has a documented history of severe, recurrent, or chronic injuries, including multiple injuries to the same body region, injuries with prolonged or incomplete recovery, or injuries historically associated with reduced availability or performance.

  • Unknown Long-Term Injury Risk: The player’s injury history is unknown or not available.

There’s one more thing coming to the site in the near future: Results from this week’s NFL Draft Combine. Keep on the lookout for that.

That concludes our reintroduction to the NFL Draft Website. Now, head on over to the site and see for yourself.

What We’re Reading/Watching

Via Ed Valentine at Big Blue View: “Delane was asked on Thursday why he felt his was the best cornerback in this draft class. His answer was direct:

“Put the film on.”’ (we did; here’s his scouting report)

“The team’s RPO runs weren’t particularly effective in 2025, per Sports Info Solutions, averaging 3.7 yards per carry (27th) and negative-0.11 expected points per attempt (26th).”

Our NFL Draft Website is a great resource. We’ve got scouting reports on 100 of the top players, with many more to come (we’ll have more than 300 when we’re done). With that, we’ve got ratings and rankings. It’s basically everything a GM would want to know.

Our statistical information package includes Total Points, our proprietary metric that values everything that happens on the field, as well as position-specific performance data in the form of raw totals, averages, and percentile rankings. And we explain our stats in our glossary.
